Lot Categories
Every lot has a category - a theme that tells you what the place is primarily for and gives everyone on it special perks. Most perks help anyone who visits, not just the owner, so it is worth knowing what each category does before you drop in.
When a player first creates a lot it will default to Residence. The lot category can be changed but only once every 7 days.
How hosting pays
When other players visit your lots, you earn visitor-hour V$ automatically each night based on how long people spent there. Some categories pay more per visitor than others, and some have their own extra earning streams on top. The amounts below are tuning values and may be adjusted as we balance the game.

Services
A place that takes care of visitors. Motive-restoring objects work 1.5x harder here, and owners earn V$ from every motive you help visitors restore.
- Best for: cafes, spas, restaurants, anywhere people come to increase motives.
Skills
A place to learn and improve your skills. Visitors build skills 1.5x faster, and you earn V$ from the skill points your visitors gain. Motives drain a little faster here (1.2x).
- Best for: skill houses, studios, classrooms, workshops.
Money
A working lot built around money objects. Owners earn a cut of every money object your visitors use. Motives drain the fastest here (1.5x), but players also get a 1.5x boost to the payout.
- Best for: jobs, businesses, money houses, anywhere people come to earn.
Shopping
Great for retail destinations. List items for sale and earn from what visitors buy, with access to exclusive objects and bulk discounts.
- Best for: shops, markets, malls.
Social
A hangout built for crowds. Rank boost on the leaderboards, pays a higher visitor bonus (1.5x), and keeps motives topped up with slower drain (0.7x) and faster recovery.

Entertainment
A destination for shows, fun and spectacle. Rank boost on the leaderboards and pays a higher visitor bonus (1.5x). Motives drain slowly here (0.7x).
